The Space
Solfina is a photographer-designed natural light studio in Newcastle, created for calm, consistent sessions and beautiful client experiences.
The space spans 100sqm, with 63sqm of open, clear-span studio floor and an additional 37sqm mezzanine level, offering flexibility for both shooting and working. Every zone has been considered through a photographer’s eye — prioritising light, flow, and what photographs beautifully.
Downstairs, the main studio features white floors and walls, softened by a curved, limewashed feature wall that brings warmth and subtle texture to the space. Natural light fills the studio throughout the day, with a 3 x 3 metre roller door that can be opened to invite additional light and create a soft, diffused atmosphere.
A separate white curtained room offers a quiet, minimal setting — ideal for portraits, content creation, or controlled, light-focused shoots.
Upstairs, the mezzanine level functions as a calm work zone — perfect for editing, planning, or behind-the-scenes moments — allowing creators to move seamlessly between shooting and working within the same space.
The studio includes a private bathroom, kitchenette, and a curated selection of props and décor items, chosen to complement the neutral palette without overwhelming it.
Solfina is designed to feel as considered empty as it does in use — a space that supports creativity without distraction, and one you’ll want to return to.
